The acid battery has the following design features
1.The electrolyte is absorbed in a microfiber silica glass mat separator (90% saturated) with a non-spill-over design.

4.The design of fiberglass felt to absorb electrolytes eliminates the need for hydration.

In some aircraft, two identical batteries are used inparallel for starting engines. The recommended practice is to replace both batterieseven if only one has low capacity. The replacement batteries should be of the sameor similar age and usage history. When batteries of different age are used inparallel, the newer battery will work harder due to lower resistance, whichaccelerates aging of the newer battery.
